As a Raider season tix holder thruout the '70's, I was at the game. LOVED every minute of it! Was SOOOOOO much better than watching them play at the Coliseum!! Parking situation was NO different than the Big Game every other year in Berkeley. I was very much used to it. And I was only 19 at the time. What a bleeping great time!!
The reason there were no more Raider games at Memorial is Al Davis weaseled out of paying the rent based on intentional "traps" he wrote into the rental agreement. What a massive turd he was.
BTW, I was at that game. Phenomenal. We knew we made history ending the Dophins win streak, and we rushed the field after with players jumping up and down like little kids. I'll never forget it.
I remember getting stuck in the traffic of that game. I grew up close to the stadium and they wouldn’t let my Mom through, so she started crying and the cop said ok! That never works when I try it……
My step-father and I attended that game, sitting in Section MM.
We lived on Creston Rd. a little south of Marin Ave. at the time. We walked from home to the stadium by way of Grizzly Peak Blvd, Shasta Rd., Campus Dr., and LaLoma Ave.
Watching that video made me a little nostalgic for the old Memorial. I watched some great games there and have yet to see one at the new Memorial (although I understand they now serve $15 dollar beers and good food).

good stuff...thank you!
I'm trying to imagine the character of the crowd assembled for a Raiders game on Tightwad. Terrifying.

May he rest in peace.

Madden had a MA in Education from SLO. We can give Prof. Madden his honorary doctorate.
RIP to a Bay Area Legend. High school kid from Daly City does good and, most-importantly, to my knowledge, never works for Furd.

Love seeing the ankle-deep grass at Memorial in that video.
good job Bob. We knew you could do it.
12‐yard field goal!
and a 10‐yarder!
How is that possible? LoL
Did they calculate FG as the yard ball was placed instead of actual distance?
Goalposts were in the endzone then, with the crossbar at the goal line. They moved goalposts to the back of the endzone in 1974.
Oh okay that makes sense. Those were the dangerous days
The article you referenced says they kicked 10 and 12 yard field goals.
I “looked it up myself” too by watching the video….. Great stuff!
