"Even before weed was legalized in Eugene, it was basically legal."

Hmmm... sounds like Bezerkely.

I agree about Ye; the remark itself was a criticism of the media establishment dominated by one POV.

Great idea about questions from the W4C readers.

"Berkeley and Palo Alto are, too, in their own way."

Well said, considering the above comment that is most likely true:

"Also, there are more Duck fans than Golden Bear fans in the stands."

Questions that should have been asked --

1. Should have asked some sort of question about how Lupoi is doing.

A: Who cares? Why does an assistant from over a decade ago that betrayed the program matter to us?

2. Why should Kanye be punched in the face? I'm Jewish but I don't want to punch him even though recently I think he made some anti-semitic remarks?

A: I am Polish raised and let me tell you I would definitely punch people over anti-semitic remarks, but I guess I was just raised that way.

3. Why are ex-Ducks on the Cal coaching staff traitors, especially if Oregon wouldn't have hired them?

A: Because they moved to a team that is in the same conference and division, would you like me to explain sports competitiveness to you?

Let me fix Piotr's response re: #2 and 3:

2. Why should Kanye be punched in the face? I'm Jewish but I don't want to punch him even though recently I think he made some anti-semitic remarks?

3. Why are ex-Ducks on the Cal coaching staff traitors, especially if Oregon wouldn't have hired them?

New response:

- First, these two would be follow-up questions (to their answer to the original "face punch" question). The format doesn't allow for follow-up questions. This is not actually a live interview.

- Secondly, the guest's response was not serious, Bob. (And the question itself does not condone actual violence by the way.) The question lends itself to a facetious response. There's a reason why it's asked at the very end. The guest isn't going to spend a whole lot of time coming up with a thoughtful response. Sometimes they might even just answer with the first public person they don't like who pops into their head. They might even feel obligated to give a funny response, or find something that relates to us in some way. There is no reason to dissect and debate their answer.

GoBears49:

If indeed Wilcox was given a final offer at Oregon and turned it down it was probably because of some degree of interference in his coaching style, plus, the expectations of instant success. One or two 5-7 seasons and he'd be gone. I'm sure uncle Phil wouldn't tolerate it. The fact is he has been itinerant like many assistant coaches even coaching at Cal under Tedford, they go where they see the best opportunity for environment and compensation. As far as we know Wilcox has not had a wandering eye like Sonny, which became irritating but is not unknown in the coaching profession. He now has his TCU team no. 7 in the nation and his reputation is reaching its apogee.
