1. How are you guys feeling about Franklin a few games in?
James Franklin has been an incredible breath of fresh air and exactly what Virginia Tech has needed. As soon as he *shockingly* became available, he was the obvious best option to lead this program. MASSIVE credit to our administration, BOV, and the search committee for making this possible and investing in the program.
2.How are expectations shifting for you guys? Where do you see this season going?
Coming into the year I was on the 7-wins train to measure success. It is a massive overhaul to our program and athletic department from the top down and we have made incredible progress. The talent floor has been risen, the funding finally is aligned with the expectations of the fanbase and we are absolutely headed in the right direction. I think health will play a huge factor in our ceiling, but I truly believe the Hokies can hang with anyone in this league. With continued growth and maturity, I think this young team has a chance to compete for a spot in Charlotte this year.
3. Defensive player to watch?
Kemari Copeland - Strong as an Ox and soon to be playing on Sunday.
Aycen Stevens - Has logged a sack in every game he has played.
4. Offensive player to watch?
Luke Reynolds - One of the best offensive players Tech has had in a decade. On pace to break most Virginia Tech receiving records.
Ethan Grunkemeyer - In my opinion... a top-3 passer in the ACC
5. How do you see this game going?
As much respect as I have for Cal, I think there is so much in flux right now that I am not seeing a world where the Hokies do not handle business. The situation reminds me a lot of year-1 under Brent Pry. I really like Lupoi... But, a first year coach with 2- young and inexperienced coordinators is not a winning recipe. I’m taking the Hokies by 2 touchdowns.
6. What does cal need to do to win this game?
Taketh the football away and not turn the ball over. Hokies will look to exploit the Bears poor rushing defense while also attacking through the air in the short pass / screen game. It would be nice to see the Hokies get vertical, but I think the defensive woes for Cal point to some large numbers for what is one of the most efficient offenses in Hokie history.
7. Whom would you like to punch in the face?
Amazing question. I wish that I had a answer for you, but Cal is one of if not my favorite opposing fanbase in the ACC. Will be rooting for you the rest of the way as you all can help the Hokies a ton with pulling off a win against Wake, SMU, or Pitt. You all are seriously the best and LOVE having you all in our conference.

I am glad he likes the Cal fanbase. I would like to see Cal beat Wake, or Pitt, or SMU as well.
