Clean take. Beaver fans are like us in being sober and non-pompous about their team. They've had great teams this century, as have we, but no ego complex like the Sucks, U$C, Furd or Fuskies. Gotta like the Beavs, even though they have been Bear killers. How do they act so carnivorous with those teeth? Have you seen the new book out about real beavers called, wait for it...."Eager". Love that title!
Despite all our similarities, I don't like the Beavers as much as I should. Probably because of how much they've hurt the Bears (especially 2007, 2009, and 2010).
I understand that. As I've said elsewhere, my wife did her MS at OSU and we really liked living in Corvallis as a college town, and that tiny little community gets really hyped when their sport teams are even mediocre. Utterly different schools and cultures, but alike in being consistently second tier in football and basketball most of the time.
I really hope the UO-OSU rivalry is rebranded as the Platypus Bowl
