Nice hire. 35 year old dude with some recruiting chops. I wish the season started tomorrow so we can see Madsen & Co. at work.

OK,

We have coach and a staff in place.

Time to get the players who actually, you know, play the game.

(I know, I know, give some dough to NIL and they will come.)

A deadeye point guard, and a Davis Webb type QB on campus would bring extraordinary enthusiasm to Haas and Memorial.

GO BEARS!

All three of the staff seem like solid guys. And they're going to have the opportunity to prove their recruiting mettle from day one!

I love that phrase! Proving one's mettle is just as great a phrase now as it was in 1528, much less 1928.

These three coaches seem like a diverse group of young guys with great reputations in both the on-court and recruiting spheres. I never thought I would be so excited about Cal men's basketball again. Goooo Bears!!!

“Prove their mettle ”? What is this, 1928?

Wow, you must be fun at parties. Not only is that a fairly common phrase in the sport sphere, it is on point in that comment. I personally like the three hires, and Cal fans at least have a reason for excitement.

If you read Bear19’s post with some sarcasm, I find it fun and funny. Perhaps B19 should have added an emoji because they may WELL be fun at parties!

Oh crap, I may have screwed the pooch. Don't know the mannerisms here yet, so if that was sarcasm, apologies to Bear19, and if I could I would insert 19 face palm emojis here.

You can't take anyone's post seriously whose name ends with a 9.

I used to work with a guy who had the license plate NAZGUL3.

3...? Now that's a guy you can't take seriously. 9 would have been so much better...

See, I got that, sarcasm or not. (only 3 face palm emojis here.)

Amorrow for a brighter tomorrow.

Amorrow and Amorrow and Amorrow…

Creeps in this petty pace from day to day…

I had to memorize that damn Shakespeare line in 10th grade…

Never thought you'd use it, much less in a sports blog? I love the literacy Shakespeare and Proving One's Mettle in just five comments.

There's a big, bright, beartiful Amorrow

Shining at the end of Fox's day

There's a big, bright beartiful Amorrow

And success is just a dream away!

Shakespeare?... overrated...

The Sherman brothers? ... genius! ... but would have been even better if they had included the words "golden" or "bear(s)" more often
