We don't get any revenue share if Notre Dame wins despite their ACC adjacency. So absolutely no rooting interest.

There is a lot of commentary that the fact that we've seen so much "Northern" (non-SEC) team success in the past few years is because of NIL—and that under-the-table pay-for-play in the SEC was a big part of their recent dominance. It's possible that NIL actually works in Cal's favor

And he's upstairs in the press box where he can see what's going on. When the OC is on the field he can only get field info from assistants upstairs since an OC can't see crap from the sidelines.
