The Mack Brown effect is in full force. The Tar Balls score 24 4th quarter points to beat Wake Forest by 3, knocking the Deacons from the ranks of the undefeated, and the CFP contenders. In a game that does NOT count in the ACC standings.

Do we know yet who isn’t playing today? I’ve just seen reports that “multiple” Cal players are out today due to Covid protocol.

Granted 'furd is dealing with a lot of injuries at the moment, but for a team loaded with talent their 2-deep isn't very good. I'm sure their health situation will be improved in time for the Big Game and McKee will make a big difference. I haven't seen a 'furd team this bad in many years.

Personal gripe: I'm miffed that Cal did not offer Patu. Total miss by the staff especially since they knew the family so well having had offered and received a commit from his brother.

Only half way through the 1st quarter and it looks like 'furd has given up, their defense sucks. And I guess their QB (McKee) is out.

Looks like they’re mailing it in. Big waste of highly rated talent, I wonder if Shaw is burned out.

They allowed a 96 yard TD run. No one on Furd could catch him.

Yeah, they look demoralized just like we were a few years ago against Utah when we ended up rolling with Spencer Brasch at qb. But at least we held them to 4.6 yards a carry that day. Utah's at 13.5 even with that bobbled snap that the qb booted around.

They look like Cal in 2013 but with no offense. Total yards at halftime: Utah 440, furd 28.

52-7 loss. Certainly amongst the Shaw era's worst losses.
