Cal vs. Long Beach State: Cal has taken the first set in 3 of 5 matches. Bears won the first sets easily on three court, but Long Beach State won the two closest sets on courts 1 and 3 (AKA the ones shown on ESPNU).
Actually, I didn’t find this hard to follow at all. ESPNU I thought did a very good job of jumping between courts when the scores dictated it. Split screen and score updates were well utilized. Well done. Go Bears! Beat the ‘Ruins!
Cal Beach Volleyball advances to the NCAA Elite Eight tomorrow (a rematch against UCLA, just like last year) after a 3-1 win over Long Beach State. Cal got the wins on courts 2 and 5 (in straight set), dropped two close sets on court 1, and won in the 3rd set in court 4.
Even though Cal lost in today’s round of eight dual with UCLA, it’s cool we have an all-CA final four (Cal Poly upset fourth seeded Florida St.).
