Man I hope that we DO NOT overlook this game. Kids need to come to this fight to win. Too much talent on UNC to think that they are incapable of beating us.

I do not like that we get Bill Belechick, of all coaches, after a bye week. An extra week of scheming is especially dangerous from a football mastermind of his caliber. The bye also gives a natural psychological dividing line for the whole team, in which they likely see an opportunity to put their disappointing start behind them and reset their expectations. Lord knows they have the talent. Given Cal's recent history as a team other struggling teams "get right" playing against, I wouldn't put my money on a decisive Cal win.

Belichick is just showing up to collect a paycheck at this point, and help enable whatever his girlfriend is doing at UNC. UNC's problem this year hasn't been scheme, it's been basic fundamentals: UNC absolutely cannot tackle and routinely busts coverages, misses blocking assignments, gets dominated at the line of scrimmage, tons of unnecessary procedural penalties (e.g. 12 men on the field) and so on. I can't even think of an redeeming point here. UNC's best corner, CB Thaddeus Dixon, is also out with an injury.

Bill Belichick is a football chessmaster, but with the way his team was recruited and prepared, he's basically been playing with pawns. They've been outmatched at every point.
