Discuss all the other football happenings not involving the California Golden Bears in this live thread.
If you must talk Cal, the NFL has also started. Jared Goff plays tonight against Patrick Mahomes! And the weekend ends with Aaron Rodgers make his Jets debut. Plenty of Cal Bears in the NFL this week as well.
Their run defense was always the weakness of the team and defense. TCU gashed them last week and I figured Nebraska would as well since their QB is a better runner than passer.
Colorado also doesn’t have much depth on defense so it will only get worse as the season and injuries happen.
Goff had time to get most of his throws off, the lions OL is far superior to the Rams before Goff was traded. Nice showing by Jared. Just realized it's been 10 years since he introduced himself to my Dad and I back on Memorial fan day in 2013. Super nice guy and at that point he had yet to throw a pass for Cal.
20-18 TT over Oregon 12 minutes left in the 3rd Q
Wow. Texas!
Texas Tech QB has a 58 yard run and tosses a TD pass. TT 7-0 over Oregon. Just turned the game on.
Tech is putting up a fight.
Now Colorado is rolling. Game went about as I expected for a rivalry game.
Yeah but their run defense is a bit suspect. Comfortable win most likely though

Clemson losing to their cupcake. LMAO.
You’re supposed to eat the cupcake, not lose to it!
Welp, they just tied it up.
Sling tv. Slow to load as of 20 mins ago. Third try it did it.
Colorado may not be as good as hyped.
Nebraska is a joke with 5 turnovers by halftime. Only reason Prime is ahead.
Colorado isn’t going to go undefeated but they more than likely will go to a bowl game, which is a huge improvement over last season.
Is the game chat supposed to be paid subscriber only?
Last week it was only for paid subscribers and I remember it being an issue last season where they would forget to unlock it for everyone.
Looks like it’s open now. Go bears!!
Yeah, they paywalled the non-Cal chat, which is typically sparse in participation. Go figure.
I'm betting Colorado not only wins, but rolls up the points.
Buffs not as fierce against a non-Dykes defense.
Nebraska is a big rival so it isn’t unusual for rivalry games to be close.
Plus, Nebraska’s defense played well last week and looks to be the strength of the team.
Utah looking good at Baylor.
Rising out, again.
Barnes and Johnson gettin' it done.
So, why not dual QBs for us?
And why the F can't we have live bears like Baylor does?
*sniff
I'm not watching the game but Baylor lost to Texas State last year. Is Baylor good or is Utah not good?
IMHO- Baylor is better than the average bear. Much improved. I think they, too, hit the Portal hard. Plus Utah is not playing Rising.
Must be that horrible travel issue that's putting national champions like Auburn behind the eightball. 😉
GO!
Cal BEARS!
I just tuned in a little bit and saw the backup Utah QB he's not good. Maybe Baylor's coverage is good as he's not finding open receivers.
Well my flight is about to take off and will be in Berkeley soon!
Safe travels.
Go Bears!
Yeah, Utah's using both back-ups, who are both very good, but Rising makes a difference.
Thanks. My plane landed. And Utah won!? Wow
Crazy finish.
Questionable non-call on some PI, but, IMHO, the non-call was consistent with several non-calls all day.
Utah may not pull this one out.
Yeah, not looking their best.
Therefore it might be a bad loss
Oski ain’t dead yet
Oski must know Yogi. LOL
But a real bear'd be good.
Utah is not looking good against Baylor.
Welp, they were.
Legend Alert:
Joe Namath making an appearance on College Game Day.

Louisville rolled up Murray State (FCS). Not sure what it means. Jack Plummer showed the usual combination of good plays and Goll-darn-it moments.
Goff and Jones didn't play great, but the Lions did win.
I turned in the second half and saw #11 catch a pass and got excited only to find out it wasn't Marvin Jones.
