Always happy for Tedford being at Fresno. No way Wilcox to Oregon. He's not that interested and they want a much bigger fish. That $C clip was so $C and so cringy bad that it only affirms all that is laughably horrible about that school. The cheerleaders in the front are right out of central casting, and yet the amateurish gig was pathetic.
This begs the hypothetical question as to who would be on our list if Wilcox jumped? Troy Taylor would have to be on the short list, but I don't even know if any of the guys on the Oregon list would even make it on ours given a variety of reasons, but mainly financial ones
They looked at the Pete Carroll coaching tree and decided they were Never Going Back Again. People heard they wanted Urban Meyer but those were just Little Lies as they pursued Lincoln Riley who finally decided Go Your Own Way and leave Oklahoma. Those LA lights and the Gold Dust Woman can Hypnotize people. Now Oklahoma fans are sad as they shout Hold Me from their triple wides.
I think the token Wilcox mention in the list represents many of the more saner views I've read or listened about. I would be very surprised, shocked even, if Oregon selected him. And similar to the Husky job represents a classic underpromise feature that taken to the next step - over delivery, would come along with the actual hire who no doubt would be a bigger, more accomplished name.
"BYU went undefeated in their five matchups with Pac-12 teams this season, including Pac-12 champion Oregon." You need a correction there, Avi. Oregon and BYU did not play each other this season.
Please, please explain to me how Wilcox would be a sexy hire for Oregon. What.....just because he played at Oregon? Oregon fills that stadium for every game because the offense spreads it out and typically moves the ball around the field with lots of speed at every skill position. Wilcox is known for conservatism and sitting on a lead of any kind. Great defensive mind....doesn't know diddly about how to run a consistent and exciting offense. No, not a fit there. Maybe if the Wisconsin or Iowa head coaches move on.....
I feel like Wilcox to Oregon is the easy and lazy name to add to any Oregon vacancy list due to his connection to Oregon. If you take away his connection to Oregon and he was from Nevada, with no coaching history at Oregon and with his record at Cal, would he even be mentioned as a candidate? I doubt it. Therefore, I seriously doubt Oregon takes him as a HC.
Maybe not more busy than others, but the number of higher profile jobs being open makes it more unique....USC, Oklahoma, LSU, Oregon, Notre Dame, Washington, and Miami are all all big gigs...true, some of those were jumps from 1 to 1, but it's definitely been more interesting than usual.
RE: Lincoln Riley press conference
What's up with that?

Yeah, good for him, although I have been holding onto some hope that he would end up back here in some non-HC capacity.

I think that list starts and ends with Taylor. This assumes of course, that we couldn't somehow miraculously lure Ron Rivera from the NFL.
"Never underestimate a Cal coaching hire to zig when it should zag" - Dennis Gates
Was $C in a Fleetwood Mac state of mind because of all the coaching Rumours or because the Landslide just brought them down last week?

You would think Lane Kiffin to Eugene would have better odds....
Yes, and same for Kitake.
Oregon fans are wayyyyy to entitled to be happy with anything less than a current major coach…that is to say, they appear to be a few weeks too late.

Otherwise, good stuff, as always.
Enjoyed the USC - Riley "rally" clip.

I somehow missed Norvell jumping to CSU. Is that even a step up. I'd argue no.

Is all this movement a regular thing with college football coaches and coordinators, or is this year especially busy?

OK, I get that , appreciate it.
