I was at the game and we were out of sync on offense because of Modster and Brasch, had some turnovers, the game was about even but we couldn't stop OSU from scoring the game winning TD in the last couple of minutes - they basically ran it down our throats on that drive.
I have been wanting to blame Musgrave's game planning for the lack of Cal's firepower on offense last week, particularly with the power sets with Garbers lining up under center. But I just went back and watched Cal's first four offensive sets of the game and it became clear to me that Garbers was just terrible. He did not look comfortable and repeatedly missed his receivers on crucial downs that could have kept drives alive and Cal in the game.
Hate to pin it all one guy, but his play tomorrow will determine the outcome. The reports of intense pad popping at practice this week should mean the interior lines will have much better play and keep the game close.
Did Oregon St stop us, or was it like ucla last week where we stopped ourselves? (Still sad about our opener)
