I made you nervous with the Offensive Preview, didn't I? Not to worry, OSU's defense is just 6th in the Pac-12 in points allowed, an entire 1.1 points/game behind #5... (checks notes) ... Us.
I have seen this before, I am subscribed to this guy on youtube. I like his play breakdowns, but he's also put out a few videos like this where he's just pandering to big fanbases or completely wrong about things (here's a good example, he guarantees Justin Herbert will be a bust: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Qj_TIx1FuA).
I do watch the Lions every Saturday, and Goff continues to get absolutely no respect at all, he's just in the worst situation he could possibly be in. For one thing, most of the Lions receivers are so bad, they would be on many other teams' practice squads (many of the Lions starting receivers are injured too, so this is really not that farfetched of a statement). The Lions actually do (well, did) have a good offensive line, but they have since lost players to injuries, like All-Pro center Frank Ragnow, so now even their offensive line is struggling. (Aside: when healthy, they should be good, as former Oregon tackle Penei Sewell is an absolute monster-- he completely shut down the 49ers' Nick Bosa in his first game as a rookie, he held his own against Rams future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald, etc). Goff gets no respect because dumb fans at home see "bad throw by Goff, receiver was wide open but Goff's pass was 10 yards off-target" when that's absolutely not what happened. The receiver ran a curl route towards the center of the field when he should have ran an out route, so he got open but ran the wrong route, and Goff threw where the receiver was supposed to be before the receiver's break. All people see is Goff not hit an open receiver, and of course it's always the quarterback's fault. It's hard to be on the same page as a receiver that you don't really play with, either because you're new to the team or the receiver has been called up from the practice squad and has never played with Goff before either, etc.
You need two players to make a catch; the quarterback throwing it and the receiver to catch it. At least when Matt Stafford was in this kind of hopeless situation, he had Hall of Fame receiver Calvin Johnson to throw at.
There's a reason Detroit is called the Siberia of the NFL. Goff needs to get out of there. He takes a lot of blame which is unjustified. People forget that he led the Rams to a Super Bowl just a couple of years ago in his 2nd year with the Rams. If he doesn't get another starting opportunity I think his fate might be as a back-up quarterback in the league.
If you mean the criticism from the second guy, it's because I couldn't stand to listen to the guy for more than a couple minutes. Goff absolutely will stand in the pocket and make the throws, and we've seen it throughout his career. When people focus on one single miss, it easily ignores the entire body of work-- you can make 19 straight throws, but if you miss one key play, everyone talks about that instead, and you get defined by your counterexample instead.
Personally, if Goff wanted to sack himself every time an opposing lineman was coming, I wouldn't blame him. He doesn't get the same kind of protection from refs as the Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers of the league. There was one example I'm happy to find where he got completely tomahawked by a Giants defender and the ref told him that's not a penalty when Goff complained. If I'm Goff, a $135 million dollar QB with less than 2 years left on my career, I'm not sacrificing my long term health for the 0-7 Lions either. Of course selfish Lions fans aren't gonna understand that... selfish Lions fans are expecting a colossal sacrifice from their QB that they're too busy shitting on most of the time anyway. I wouldn't do it either.
Dooooooommm?
Totally cursed! Maybe a Cal alum picked orange as their school color??? Hard to say.....
Our lack of success against the Beavs in the past 20 years is kind of depressing.
That’s one word for it….. confounding comes to mind
So does Dooooommm (see above).

Two years left on his contract, not career, I mean.
