There is in the NIT and CBI. Both do not have a .500 record requirement anymore. If the top 7 seeds in the conference make the tourney, then the Bears just have to look more appealing to the selection committee over a team like Utah and OSU. The CBI is trickier since it requires a $50,000 pay to play. I dont know if our athletics department would be willing to fork that over.
CBI IMHO is generally not worth it, and I think we've passed on it before. Only value is if we're willing to pay $50K to give our kids more experience on the court so that they can grow for next year.
Is there any chance Cal plays in one of the other, sub-NIT tournaments? I mean, assuming any of these tournaments happen....
