Before we get to this week’s PFF grades and determining which bucket Saturday’s game falls into, a quick word on last week’s results. I mentioned that the ASU defensive grades looked suspiciously high, as it was the highest-graded game of the Wilcox Era. PFF has since made some notable adjustments to that game’s grades. Usually grades will fluctuate by a few points over the week, but a couple categories had double-digit changes. As a result of the updated grades, last week’s rockfight has moved into The Good category (although it’s on the border closest to The Rockfights). Fortunately, this week’s ratings passed the eye test and the ultimate result should look familiar to anyone who noticed the 2022 team’s strange new pattern of all-offense, no-defense games.
