Last week we reviewed an abnormal Cal game featuring explosive offense and a mixed performance on defense. Over the last six years we have become accustomed to the opposite—solid defense and inconsistent offense—so the win over Arizona was a bit of an outlier. Well, what if we took what we saw against Arizona and made everything considerably worse? That’s pretty much what happened in Pullman on Saturday: lots of yards (on both offense and defense), few points for the offense, and many points for the opposing offense.
