Honestly, the more and more I watch replays, look at scouting grades, and just generally consider the Minnesota game, the more I’m surprised that Cal wasn’t more productive on offense.
Like, intellectually, I understand. Minnesota is a good defense and you’re not going to win every play. A couple drives were derailed by sacks, others penalties, a few others on mildly inaccurate throws or a dropped pass.
But by and large Cal’s passing offense spent 60 minutes getting chunk after chunk after chunk until finally the whole Minnesota defense gave way. Let’s take a look at the numbers:
