I just want to savor Saturdays of Golden Bear football. I will celebrate victories for an entire week and I will mope about losses for days. But it's all part of being a Golden Bear loyalist and I would not have it any other way. Bring on the season!!
This is a great outlook, and one that fans of most programs could do well to adopt to some degree. College football, even with its problems and upheaval, is still a fabulous thing to experience.
For the first time in my 40 years of Golden Bear fandom/obsession, I honestly want Cal to beat fUCLA more than I want to win the Big Game. Of course, I want both, but f@#k the Bruins...
As always, I'm WAY too excited for this season (which I blame on W4Cal's staff, of course....), but that's what's great about college football. Go get 'em, Bears. I don't have as many seasons left as I used to; let's git 'er done! In Wilcox I trust.
Voice of Reason I guess. I tend to not get too optimistic or pessimistic about each season, even though I look forward to it every Spring and Summer. The band comes running out on the field to explosions, as does the team.
