Jennifer Doudna is the first female faculty member at Berkeley to win the Nobel Prize. UCLA go their first female winner yesterday with Andrea Ghez sharing the prize with Cal's Reinhard Genzel. Stanford's Nobel Prize faculty winners have been all male.

It's kind of a shame that Doudna won the award in this pandemic year since I'm sure the campus celebration would have been tremendous in a normal year with students and staff around. I guess they can always do more celebrations later, when things go back to normal.
