I have been a Cal football fan for a long time, and I have a rare melancholy about this team that is hard to explain. I just sort of knew beforehand the Cal defense would not get a stop on TCU's last possession to keep the game riveting until the end. And I did not feel particularly excited when Cal jumped out to 1st quarter leads in both games. You just sort of feel the other shoe is going to drop, and it's the shoe your dog chewed through the heel.

I think the feeling started last year when Cal had an extra point and a field goal attempt blocked to lose against Stanford. We used to win more close games than we lost. Feels like it's changing. Hope the dam doesn't burst.

Voice of reason for the 2nd year in a row. I guess it doesn't take being a fan for so long to figure out what we go through yearly....sigh.

Amongst the Old Blues I was a Negabear. Hopefully come Saturday we'll have a better outcome. Coaching and special teams let us down. Defense was not particularly strong, but there were a lot of new guys in there especially at LB.

I can't believe I misspelled Qatari. What an embarrassment.
