If we're honest with ourselves, we should be amazed that we were competitive. I know we "blew" the lead, but I'm celebrating the progress we have made.
How soon we forget our blow out losses to Top Twenty teams last year.
Patience Bears, we are making progress.
Although, admittedly, this was heart wrenching.
Beaten, but not broken.
Believe in this team, because they sure as Hell deserve it.
The non call on targeting was wrong. And I saw this and called it out. Are the refs that bad or is the ACC protecting Miami and their $15m NIL investment.
The entire officiating crew was penalized and had to pay major fine flow blowing the call the a UM player with the ball had knee down.
ACC refs are not giving UM any favors or special calls. Ever. Period.
Watch the Replay from rear angle, it shows UM defender Bissainthe hit your QB with his shoulder. It was a brutal hit but not targeting. He did not lead with helmet. Cal impressed me very much Saturday. If Miami doesn’t have Ward (like next year) you beat them.
The refs have forgotten that the purpose of the targeting penalty is to protect players from serious head injury caused by deliberate or grossly negligent helmet to helmet contact. Mendoza was already falling down and the hit came from the blind side. These type of hits must be eliminated from at least college football. Mendoza got up but his brain was damaged by that assault.

"HAD NO IDEA WHAT TO DO WITH A 25 POINT LEAD"
To be fair, its not as if Cal has extensive experience with a lead like that against a top 10 team.
Yeah, like most of our games, we started it with the mindset of playing "not to lose."
Narduzzi will drive a wagon over us, if we let him.
Who are you quoting?
BrooklynBear from the article above.
I feel better today than I felt late Saturday night. I cannot believe that Cal lost. What a bonanza!
GO BEARS!
Many commenters ignore the fact that we were playing the 6th ranked team in the nation.
Did Vanderbilt ignore the fact that they were playing the 1st ranked team in the nation?
Did Arkansas ignore the fact that they were playing the 4th ranked team in the nation?
Did Washington ignore the fact that they were playing the 10th ranked team in the nation?
Did Minnesota ignore the fact that they were playing the 11th ranked team in the nation?
Cal's or coaches team didn't ignore it, just all the cynical commenters
Hear, hear.
Compare this result to last year’s with top 25 teams. We’ve yet to be blown out this year, if we don’t count the 4th Quarter.

All I can say is “Go Bears!” I will never abandon this ship no matter how leaky. And there’s definitely been plenty of “leaking” this week.
Hey Cal fans. Your team played one helluva great game for 3 quarters. And game day ambiance and stadium crowd were impressive!
Have to say though, the ACC refs HATE Miami with a burning passion. Especially since the Duke game in 2015. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=D3tPEH-nHF8

He lowered his head and launched and struck the neck, head area. That's targeting.
