I've said this continually across different platforms: Wilcox's team clearly doesn't take this rivalry personally enough in my opinion. For all of the cool, calm, and collectedness this team has and its ability to be not undisciplined like USC, I feel like they just treat this like any plain old game. We need to embrace this rivalry like the way the Iron Bowl is: you hate every single person on that side of field for 60 minutes and play with that tenacity and hatred and you can mingle with friends afterward. We allow that to happen and I think we are in the money.
Truth. This hatred runs deep (for those 60 minutes) for many of the old guard, not to mention the potential good rivalries have on revenue (just sayin'). This game needs to be elevated in intensity at this point in time.
Agreed. I'm willing to give Coach Musgrave a little bit of leeway this year, but NOT the defense. Coaches Sirmon and DeRuyter should be in better positions that others in the P12. We don't seem to blitz as much as in years past either - not certain, just looks that way.
I do want to see a lot more out of Garbers, though. He lacks confidence again and his decisions and throws become inaccurate FAST when that happens. Innovation would help greatly!
I think I said this up above, but I can't recall a single screen this year, or any type of quick play to get the ball into the hands of our best playmakers. I agree that Garbers isn't performing at the rate he did in the past, with the exception of OSU, when he threw the ball downfield with success. Seems like he needs a nice pocket to have that confidence.
I also don't think they have moved the pocket or gotten him in space to make those throws, which could be attributed to the second string O-line. Let Nikko attack the middle of the D, setup screens for Crawford and Polk, and get some guys in space.
Yes, when the team is undermanned or not as athletic, there needs to be some creativity. Like you said, there could be some leeway for Musgrave, but I don't think that excuses installing a play or two per week that could accomplish these tasks.
The "Rating Comparison: Wilcox Era" is an awesome presentation. Good stuff!!!
How did Special teams even earn 8 points? I was sure it would be zero.

The best, and yet worst, picture of Oski. Which we have seen far too often lately.
Also, a lot of comments on here about a lack of creativity. The team is vanilla. Let's bring some rocky road against UO!

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!
Or did you mean Dan Quayle's "What a waste it is to lose one's mind?" : )
