Learned a lot about Anderson (and uses of motion)! Two questions about Anderson (1)Do you think he could have a hard time with press coverage in the Pac 12? (2)On the long gain, I'm guessing that the route he ran was not the original call when the safety was over the top. If so, is it a good sign that he was able to adjust his route on the fly to take advantage of what motion created and that he and the QB were on the same page?
In the two games that I've seen he hasn't been targeted much against the press (the time in the video might be the only one), so you'd definitely like to see some demonstrated success against it in his Senior year.
For the long gain against Mater Dei, it's conceivable that there was a route conversion built into this play, but it's hard to know for sure. It also could've been the case that he was running his route no matter what, and that the QB would've just thrown to the TE on the other side (who's also vertical) if the Safety wouldn't have come over. Unless you know how it's taught, to figure that kind of thing out you'd really need to see that same concept against a couple of different coverages, to see if things change based on what the Safety does. If it is a route conversion, then that would be a part of the concept that's coached and practiced, and so it would be indicative of his ability to understand coverage and make a good read.
I've watched Anderson in two games now (I also watched the Upland game to scout Oregon commit Justin Flowe), and I'd agree that his speed won't stand out in college. It's above average for HS, but he's not running away from comparably-ranked DB's.

Always awesome!
Thanks Berk18!
Of course!
Mater Dei won pretty handily.
