Report: Cal Basketball adds grad transfer Keonte Kennedy from Memphis (Updated)
Give us more shooters
Mark Madsen, has reportedly, added even more shooting with the addition of Grad Transfer Keonte Kennedy from Memphis. The 6’5” guard started his carrier at Xavier before transferring to UTEP for 2020 and 2021. He played this past season at Memphis. Jon Rothstein had the news first.
The former 3-star prospect in the 2018 class was stellar for Memphis this past season. He had the top 3PT% in conference play in all of the AAC, and the 12th ranked Offensive rating by Kenpom in the AAC for conference play. He shot 38.1% from beyond the arc on the season on 97 attempts. Kennedy also added in 54.3% of his 2PT attempts on 94 shots.
Welcome to Berkeley, Keonte.
I'm not accustomed to this much good news.
Can I get some work done people? I'm paid to do something other than rabidly following Cal sports news, but today is definitely challenging. The football and basketball coaches are coordinating their good news to overwhelm our systems and get us out of old ways of thinking. Repeat after me: We can have nice things. We can have nice things. We can have nice...wait, is that the Oski balloon gif face down again? We need an Oski gif of chopping down the tree!
