Looks like he has now entered the portal - ugh, oh well. Don't expect stability.

Glad that he’s returning. But I can’t seem to feel any connection with any of the players anymore given how players just come in for one year or leave after one year. This is also for football and I’m afraid that it’s the beginning of the end of my cal fandom. Part of what made things fun is to develop a certain connection with the team and the players. I don’t have that anymore.

Btw I’m not saying that I’m done with cal, I’m just saying that I’m afraid that this will slowly start to erode my interest over time.

Yup. The current landscape is just plain silly. Even pro players, not to mention college Head Coaches, have contracts and financial buyouts…this unregulated system is complete nonsense.

The narrative that Dusty May and Michigan has grabbed a bunch of upperclassmen off the NCAA “scrap heap” and molded this true underdog into a championship contender is patently absurd…this underdog roster cost well over $15M and was preseason #13 in the nation. Same with UCONN, U of A, Duke, St. John’s, Illinois, Tennessee, Alabama, etc. May admitted recruiting is so much easier now - you basically call a guy you’ve never talked to before and ask how much. Talk about unsustainable for 80% of the schools out there.

UPDATED - now Dai Dai’s in the portal…this is fun.

Love to see young players from the rotation return…that’s an integral part of how this program is going to continue its ascension in the ACC.

With a little improvement in his outside shot, Carr is certainly eligible to make much more of an impact off the bench in year 2.

Welcome back young man. I respect players that don't just hit the portal year after year and are in for the growth and building. Go bears 🐻

Great to keep good players. Keep at it TT!

Love TT, very happy he intends to return. FYI, Redwood HS is not in Mill Valley. It is in Larkspur. As a resident of Mill Valley, among public schools, TT had the option to play either at Tamalpais HS (in MV) or, just over the hill, at Redwood HS. He chose to play his senior season at Redwood, after playing his first three years at The Branson School (a private school in Ross). He had intended to play his final high school season at a more highly regarded program in San Francisco, but there was some difficulty in getting his transfer there approved. That’s why he ended up playing his senior year at Redwood, as I understand it.

Great news! Like most freshmen, there's inconsistency. But we saw flashes of brilliant, high-energy play so the talent is there.
