It's also amazing that kids are willing to put up with freezing winters and scorching summers when they could get a better degree in more temperate climes.
Cal just got a commit from Ryan Glover QB grad transfer. Insurance policy/contingency plan given Martin is chatting with Harbaugh? Stay tuned...
This recruiting cycle has started off slow as expected with COVID / lock down and some states having late high school football seasons. So far not much to be excited about for this cycle.
I thought I read that Glover had 2 years remaining but I may have misunderstood given this COVID "extra year" stuff. Either way I would not consider Martin a lock for Cal at this point and Cal doesn't have any other offers out there for a QB. In this cycle the QBs Cal had offered have all committed. Hopefully Martin sticks w/ Cal.
Do you think it’s better to have better backup this year with Millner taking less snaps in practice or have Millner take more snaps but put the season on Garners’ health again?
This is good news. I'll look forward to our commit numbers going up soon. I'd expect us to have a better recruiting class this year than last year and the delay may have helped us. Remember we beat WA the last two time we played them and we beat OR in 2020. There are a number of four and three star kids playing the same position that projected by sites like 247 to commit to both of those schools. I just don't see two 4 star RB's committing to OR in the same year, so maybe we'll pick up some of those kids. We certainly are on the rise and neither of those teams can claim to be better than us. Also, Stanfurd is back in full swing for their recruiting now that Coach Shaw has the personal situation with his brother behind him. They are going to be tough competition.
Nate Burrell from St. John Bosco commits, Go Bears!!
It is amazing that kids consider playing football in Michigan or Nebraska instead of getting an education at the University of California.
Michigan education is really good though
Or the heat and humidity of SEC territory, along with a "thin" education at a football school where the primary interest is football, not academics.

Glover is a smaller former 3 star. Unless he Is a HeLl of a QB I don't see him breaking into our rotation.
Glover is a graduate transfer. Working out the details rn on what he could bring to the offense this year, but it’s not about Martin at all.
Perhaps not but it remains to be seen if Martin stays committed to Cal.
I mean. Glover will be gone by the time Martin steps on campus if he sticks through his commitment so I have no clue as to how one affects the other.

This will be Glover’s final year - he played in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
We don't need any more QB's with Kai Milner coming in.
