Cal in the NBA starting 5: Kidd, Jorge, Murray, Shareef, Powe. Almost seems a no-brainer this five. I could see toggling Randle or Gray for Jorge, but I could also see Jorge shutting those two gunners right tf down. Damn, I miss Jorge sometimes. #mancrush
Man, Charlie Moore was going to be the ideal Cal player. Hard-playing non-traditionally sized player with better skills than 99% of the other guys on the court. One of many travesties of the last 5 years of Cal men's basketball.
Question: how is he on his third team in four years, with one year of eligibility left? He played at Cal 2016–17, sat out 2017–18 at Kansas, played 2018–19, and played 2019–20 at Depaul, with one year left of eligibility. He should've had to sit out again after transferring to Depaul, right? Or did he get his Bachelors at Kansas (after 1 year at Cal + 2 at KU), making him immediately eligible as a grad transfer? Or or is this just another example of transfer rules not making any sense/not being applied the same to everyone?
If you count the commitment/NLI with Memphis, Moore's actually with his 4th program in 5 years.....he transferred after his FR from Cal to Kansas to be closer to his ailing Grandfather in Chicago, but his hardship waiver was denied so he sat the year in Lawrence, before playing his SO season as a reserve. If you want to be near your family in Chicago, though, you should probably go play ball in the state of Illinois, hence DePaul. His second hardship waiver was approved. I don't think he will be eligible to grad transfer, or take advantage of the 1-time transfer rule.
How do you leave off one of the few Pac 10/12 Players of the Year we've ever had for Jamal Sampson and Cisco Elson? Oh, I see, it's for Bears who went onto the NBA.
I finally get to have my 5 wings team (which is really short hand for I want 5 guys between 6'4" and 6'8")
Jason Kidd
Jaylen Brown
Ty Wallace
Lamond Murray (who led the Pac-10 in rebounds!)
Patrick Christopher
but here's how I'd answer my own question:
PG - Jason Kidd - one of the 3-6 best point guards to ever play basketball depending on how you're listing them.
SG - I would love to throw Jaylen here, but he was so iffy at the end of his freshman season, and also a Brown/Kidd backcourt would be terrible for shooting, so let's take Jerome off the ball and let him run off picks and catch-and-shoot. He can guard the 1 on the other side. If that doesn't work for you, let's put Ed Gray here, so we can also get some mean-ass dunks.
SF - Lamond Murray - led the Pac-10 in scoring and rebounding at 6'7". Also, one of the crispiest hairlines to ever play at Cal.
PF - Shareef. The Future - unstoppable on the block. I think in 2020, he adds a 3 point shot, because he could shoot it out to 18' with ease his one year at Cal.
C - Toggling between Leon Powe and Ryan Anderson here, but in the end I love shooting, especially if we're going to have 'Reef taking up some post-up space, and we'll use Ryno as a stretch 5.
The players are probably going to dagger this whole thing bc they want more $$$ than the owners are going to pay, given the loss in dates and game day revenues. The argument that players are willing to “risk their health” if the money is good enough is pretty weak.

If you're taking NBA careers then KJ and Ryan Anderson have had more successful careers than Jorge and especially Jorge.
Of course. I just put a 5 together who have played in the NBA - Jorge's involvement was minimal - but he deserves another shot!!! lol

MLB set to vote on starting season in July.

Love your take, Nick....here's another...
PG - Jason Kidd ($5)
SG - Ed Gray ($4)
SF - Theo Robertson ($0)
PF - Sean Lampley ($3)
C - Sean Marks ($3)
I could play this game all day...
This is the perfect place for Blockeley University coverage, just saying
I can't believe you used the term "throwback fro" and didn't think to call it a "'fro back"
