Illinois 3, Cal 0. "First and goal from the 4 after the pass interference on the Illini".

Cal trots out a 3 tight end package. Moore on the right. Tonges on the left. Reinwald goes in motion from left to right and stops at the H-back spot on Moore's hip. Nobody goes with Reinwald, signalling zone pass coverage, but the OLB kicks out to position for Reinwald. Single WR off the line to the left.

Ball is snapped. Everyone and their cousin is looking at 230 pound RB Chris Brown Jr in the backfield to go 4 yards in 4 plays. Only an idiot would think Cal isn't pounding the rock.

Garbers drops back and holds the ball back to hand off to Brown. No, it's play-action. #1 outside pass defender gets blocked by Reinwald. Normally, the OLB has the #2 receiver (Moore), but in a split -moment reads that Garbers is running and scrapes off to chase after Garbers rather than cover his man. It's a mistake. The free safety is left in the lurch. He turns to chase after Moore.

It's too late. Moore has nobody within 7 yards of him for the easy TD. Bears take the lead that they don't relinquish.

why would anyone not want news of a Cal player earning his degree? I say Congrats to him and best wishes in the future.

Best blocking TE the Bears have on roster. Fortunately there is still time/distance between portal and transfer so maybe things can get worked out.
