Piotr is back off the injured reserve, and ready to help Nick process his feelings after Cal expectedly loses to USC in an unexpected way. As the death of the Pac-12 and cultural rivalries die, the boys ponder the effect of the new ACC schedule on fan engagement.
Meanwhile, they break down another encouraging performance from Fernando Mendoza, curse fumble luck, talk through some tentative defensive positives, and rue every play that turned a narrow win into a narrow loss.
Next, they move on to discussing another interesting week of Pac-12 action with a resurgent pair of desert teams making life miserable for Pac-12 opponents. Plus, a Wazzu/Stanford game that acts as a double preview of Cal's future opponents.
Finally, attention turns towards Oregon, and neither Nick nor Piotr have any hope that Cal can pull off what would be potentially the biggest upset in modern program history. Can Fernando and company somehow turn this game into another shoot out? Probably not! But maybe! But nah.
Hmm, upon listening, I will probably spike back up my suffering mode to high frequency - high magnitude from the recent attainment of low frequency - low magnitude regarding rehashing certain fumbles, the 2 point conversion no flag mugging. But then again, often, not always, it can offer further mitigation.
Nick’s glum recollection made me long for my three month Prozac stint of 1999. Particularly, as I purposely view the Boston College v. Syracuse game.
I'm not sure if I should like this comment, or merely nod sadly in acknowledgement
lol. After pestering my MD, a 3/4 hour float plane ride away back then, (and it didn’t take that much convincing), during my 9th year in Alaskan “town” of 400, that I’d sure like to try it out, I declared it a bust since it rendered me basically without emotions. No highs, no lows. So just reminiscing of that particular mental feature. Could be handy during FB season, but my posts would be limited to: too bad we lost, nice win etc.
