Andy and Rob discuss the offense’s slow start while the defense keeps Cal alive.
Carson Perry-Smith’s leaping TD, Ashten Emory’s winner with 19 seconds left, and one final defensive stop cap a chaotic finish. Then, the main debate: Jaron vs. Jackson. Who should start when Jaron returns? (It’s Jaron but it’s a fun discussion) Finally: Grateful Dead Theme Game with helmets, clothes and more.

There’s no magic recipe for keeping a player. You might put him in as starter for the rest of the year, he reaches new heights (hypothetically either JB or JKS), then transfers as a “free agent” to maximize income for 2027. Conversely, if a player isn’t given the opportunity to start for the rest of the year, maybe he leaves out of a feeling that his best chance to make the next level lies somewhere else.
Regarding which QB starts against Wake, I think Jason's low arm angle needs to enter into the calculus. It seems like Jason get's an above average amount of passes blocked, which may be due to the low angle. I'm wondering if that had something to do with the dearth of middle field passes.
