It would be a major bummer if Cal misses out on the NCAA tournament because all those COVID postponed games don't happen (or if Cal picks up some bad losses when they are made up in a tight schedule due to the lack of depth). This young Cal team obviously can use more game experience.
I'm not sure what to expect for the Sunday rematch at Haas. It is hard to ever "surprise" Stanford due to these games being rivalry games, but maybe the home court and possible confidence from selective memory of this game could turn into a different result?
damn, damn, damn but safety first. At this point the NCAA should start considering this year as a bonus (give athletes an additional year of eligibility) year.
Bears are playing well and improving and need to play these games to maintain their trajectory.
We'll always have that 2nd quarter, which was brilliant and so fun to watch!! Going into half time tied with the #2 ranked team in the country was inspiring. Alas, we still have a ways to go to get that W.
100% agree with what you have listed. I too was not aware at how poor we ranked on defense. I'm sure the staff is aware and working on it. DD & Michelle have potential but so far that has translated to marginal improvement by each of them. Perhaps in another year or two?
The epic 2nd quarter does bring hope, perhaps disproportionally so. Looking forward to the next game with 'furd in a couple of days.

rematch in berkeley postponed. just as well as I never like back-to-back games, and hopefully in the rescheduled game we will have a healthy Jazzy

Yeah, there were some encouraging things, and stuff coaches can talk about in the locker room and film room
You can see the potential of this team, but we need more shooting, and more scoring from our bigs
But jazzy was out ( except a minute) and I’ve felt she was essential for conference play with her shooting and defense
But speaking of defense, I didn’t realize Cal’s defense has been such a problem until I read nicks article
We still have a young team, but that’s a poor defense despite the players flying and diving all over the court
I also worry that they left a hot 3 point sniper wide open multiple times
What are they thinking?

Daniels has improved her shooting form and that helped her FT shooting and 12-15 foot set shots
But she still needs to improve her shooting otherwise teams just sit on her drive
Offensively, she probably is still a year away. Defensively, she can defend 1-4
But our defensive stats suggest we aren’t playing good team defense
