Secondly, last time I commented on WFC was when I said that I didn’t get in for the Cal class of 2024. I appealed and still didn’t get in but I am super excited to announce that I’ll be close by down at Santa Clara University (providing i don’t get off the UCLA waitlist) for the next 4. I look forward to soaking up even more Bay Area sports and look forward to attending Cal games when the time allows (even if I’m a little salty since one guy from my school got in that will totally get his ass handed to him in that academic environment since I basically gave him homework for multiple classes). (Yes this sounds salty I’m aware but sometimes you just don’t know why this or that happens but I guess it’s time to prove Olfemi wrong).

That's not surprising, about 3%. But it's extremely important for the coaching staff and senior players to emphasize risk reduction. The post-viral syndrome can jeopardize one's entire season though illness and underperformance.* Aside from emphasizing accountability, team sports should regularly use pooled testing, which would be above the student population requirements due to the contact involved.

I'm still not sure we should be doing this, but if we are, we best damn do it right.

*(Obviously their health as human beings is of paramount concern, but that argument tends to fall flat with 18yos.)

I kind of feared this would happen. The delays and following of the correct procedures seems to threaten the season. But we shall see.

Now someone correct me if this seems like a one sided point but why not let the student athlete who went home to wherever they are from isolate at Cal. It seems rather counterproductive since they could be exposing people on the way to home outside of the Bay Area and while they are isolating. Surely someone whose 18 like me can’t be the only one thinking that that seems a little irrational.
