Transfer Portal PF Fardaws Aimaq commits to Cal
Aimaq played for Madsen at Utah Valley for two years
Coach Mark Madsen landed his first signee, nabbing Texas Tech PF Fardaws Aimaq from the transfer portal.
Aimaq played only 11 games as a Red Raider. He suffered a foot injury in preseason workouts last September, and came back midseason not fully healthy. Aimaq entered the transfer portal back in March, citing staff turnover in Lubbock and aggravation with how the program addressed his injury and return to play. In his 11 games, he averaged 11 points and 8 rebounds per game.
Prior to Texas Tech, Aimaq played for Mark Madsen at Utah Valley for two years. At Utah Valley, Aimaq was recognized as;
WAC Player of the Year, 2021
WAC Defensive Player of the Year, 2021 and 2022
All-Conference First Team, 2021 and 2022
He averaged an astonishing 19 points and 14 rebounds per game in 2021-22, on 49% shooting.
Aimaq played for one year at Mercer as a freshman, averaging 5 points per game in limited minutes.
Cal will be his fourth school. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
