The Big Game was full of heroes. Who thought a man guarding the helmets would become the biggest one.
Cal equipment assistant director Trevor Skogerboe has enjoyed one heck of a week, after his instant reaction to a fan stealing a Cal helmet. While the Bears rushed the field at the Big Game, Skogerboe achieved ultimate glory.
This led to the whole team celebrating Trevor’s run to glory at gamefilm review (Original video from Marshall Cherrington)
And then the accolades followed.
He was invited to the Senior Bowl as an equipment manager.
He got called out by Cal luminaries like Cam Bynum, Cameron Jordan and Max Homa.
And as usual, Justin Wilcox is focused on technique.
Equipment managers have a very tough job in college football. They handle the logistics of getting football teams set up with their necessary gear on gameday, the transport of the equipment to the game and to the field and off the field. And with the ACC move, travel and equipment transit has become more complex as it’s ever been. Kudos to Skogerboe and the equipment staff for putting up with all these hurdles while also having to guard the freshest Cal equipment out there.
Now we have a chance to pay Trevor back for his tackle. Pat McAfee has a contest going on regarding BIGGEST HITS of the year, and he’s recognizing Skogerboe for what he just did on the field, putting him in a contest that could land him a Dodge RAM, if he wins in the polls.
As of early this morning, Skogerboe is trailing, but by only a few votes to Mt. Boom. This is doable Cal fans! Please tell you and all your friends to vote for Trevor so he can get a well-deserved truck.

The Mt. Union community has reportedly been rallying around Mt. Boom as he’s won this contest for most of the past month. The Calgorithm has already powered Fernando Mendoza to a record third term as Manning quarterback of the week after going 98 yards with his boys. Can we carry Trevor over the finish line?
Happy Thanksgiving Cal fans!
