Looking at the box score the minute distribution is mind boggling. Just a week ago mark fox was saying he had played Betley too much and that’s what attributed to his decline in form. Then goes out and plays him the second highest minutes on the team
it does it does, but the idea that Betley is giving us much of anything is the real issue here, he's fallen off a cliff since the USF game. Celestine and Brown have been getting more run and for good reason, and it wasn't even foul trouble that put them on the bench. Hyder needs less run and Bowser needs more spot minutes.
Well, if it's a season worth of the past two games, maybe not, tho they probably won't be this awful as consistently as they were in pre-Fox. These past two in the Evergreen state though were some serious Wyking Jones-era level ineptitude...like, head shakingingly bad.
There's no longer the behind-the-scenes drama of the Wyking era. The program feels more polished and professional on the surface, yet the quality of basketball really hasn't really moved an inch (so far) when you look at the results. Knowlton strikes me as a bean counter in the purest sense, so I don't see him making any rash moves until the bottom line tells him he has to. But I don't see this team getting appreciably better next year or even the following year based on what I've seen so far and the talent we're able to recruit. Unfortunately, it became clear to me at the time of the Wyking hire, that the athletic department decided it was better business to bankrupt the program than to build one befitting the greatest public university in the country.

I mean Betley has been playing like ass regardless but the real cardinal sin is Brown and Celestine logging 9 minutes each like what the hell is that.
I mean that also plays hand in hand right. You’re playing Betley and Foreman so many minutes it takes away from those guys.

As with Kareem South, mid-major grad transfers are, more often than not, simply role players
What an odd game. And an about face for the Bears after defeating Colorado.
Wazzu followed up a home loss to UW by blowing the Bears off the court. Discouraging turn of events, unfortunately
Fox isn’t going anywhere until spring of 2023 at the earliest so there’s not much point on speculating...he’ll get a full recruiting cycle.
I’m not sure about that if we’re still at/near the bottom of the conference next year.
