I'm curious why the predictors seem to have little confidence in Cal's scoring defense. They seem to fly in the face of analysis that suggests our defense could be the team's strength. I hope they are wrong.

I'll take any score so long as we win.

Cal wins 42 - 13, I agree with Christopher plain script before Auburn. As other have said our defense will step up big time.

Cal 23-17. We score early and lead 17-3 at halftime. In the second half we have trouble sustaining drives. UNT scores late as we play bend don't break.

Spavital offense should yield more points against non top 100 defense, hopefully.

I hope you are right. Sometimes it takes a New offense a little time to come together. That, and the fact that there’s going to be fewer offensive plays due to the rule changes

Cal gives up 10-17: TD on beginning of season missed assignment, FG after a QB first start mistake turnover the D does not allow to be put in the end zone, maybe a TD at the end after the outcome has been decided.

Offense? Much harder to predict. Mid 20s to low 40s. 40s if Jackson V gets in a groove and they can get Ott room to roll. 20s if Jackson V struggles and the run blocking isn’t as strong as we might hope.

A win is all we need, regardless of style-points.

I’d punch someone’s Nana and Pop Pop though for a statement win on the road in a hostile environment…
