After watching the 1st half of the Texas Southern game last week I'm pretty apprehensive about the outcome of the Minnesota game this week. The Bears have to play more aggressively and hammer the Minnesota offense early.
"Ah geez, this is a real hard one dontcha know? Minnesota looked real good so far, while the Cal offense had some struggles. But those DBs will definitely force QB Drake Lindsey into an "Ope, didn't see ya there" interception. For pete's sake, I just can't see the Gophers skedaddling off with a win."....genius! You made my morning!
This is the point in the season where Cal typically has lost under Wilcox, and ends the season with a mediocre record. The first two games mean very little. This is the game where Cal can show things have changed, or not. We as fans need to do our part; be there and be loud!
Interesting to note that those predicting a Cal win are basically predicting a tossup game with the GBs getting 1 more break than the GGs. I'm with Piotr, this game will be a gut check game for how good the Golden Bears and the Golden Gophers can be in 2025. This will set the floor for Cal, not the ceiling... Go Bears!
We are leaving for the game this afternoon. I have a feeling the team will play well tonight and change the early season pattern of Cal football by winning this game. The Cal football team will play tough the whole darn game. Go Bears!
As long as the receivers can catch the ball, Cal should be okay. Run defense needs to be stout, then Massas can finally get his pick-6 when they have to pass. I was pretty close on Texas Southern, calling it 37-10. Let’s say we’ll keep the Cal offense in the 30s, so 31-24

Sucks that we'll be without our best hammer in the first half
But Minny will be without its best hammer on offense, as well; their bruising, top RB Taylor is expected to be out for this game due to injury.

I’ll be there in Gold, and I am LOUD!
And wear gold!! Go Bears!!
We win 50-17 because neither fanbase expected this score!
Cal has beaten Minnesota 4 times all time.
35-21
42-17
49-13
55-14
So that means we should win by around 30 points tomorrow.
Agree that this the first test for each team...but the Cal QB especially.
If he really has something special, it would be nice to see it tonight. To win. he has to be not just "OK"

Looks like Rob, Jesse, and Ruey were the closest!
Thanks to Nick and Piotr for fending off a jinx.
Thanks to everyone else for predicting a Bear Win!
Establishing a running game early will be key. Don’t love our receivers against these DBs.
I'll be at the game, but just have this nagging feeling...... Go Bears!
