Sigh. Figures to be typically ugly.

I am not predicting a darn thing. I am going to the game with my sons and a couple of longtime friends and Beaver fans. Kind of a tradition. Would be great to be optimistic, but oh so hard to do. Go Bears!

I’m predicting a win but I can’t go to another game rn after attending Miami and NC State games. I need to give my mind a break and do something mindless like yard work while the game is ongoing.

Lawn work could wait so I watched most of the game. Wheeew! I didn’t jinx the Bears.

Anyone watch Syracuse and Pitt last night? First thing to note was how enjoyable it was to listen to Dan Mullen talk through defensive schemes and how Pitt used the bye week to create confusion for Syracuse and McCord! The first two pick-6 were really schemed perfectly! Cuse is gettable and GO BEARS!

It doesn't fit with some people's preferred narrative, but at some point we will have to acknowledge that Pitt is a pretty good team.

#5 (Merriweather) is cleared for practice. We don't know if he'll play and if he does... is he that much faster / better body control than #13 & #17?

I'm looking for #11 to get back on the field this week for a lot of 3rd down crossing routes leading to 1st downs or 4th and short!

I will be stunned if this game isn't a rock fight from start to finish. Not only is it the only type of game either of these teams can play, it what both teams' coaching staffs WANT AND HOPE AND TRY to play.

At some point, errant operation of that canon will rain down on the field, and the team that suffers the fewest casualties will escape with the win.

After years of watching OSU visits to Strawberry Canyon, I can't envision a more Cal conclusion to a game at Cal.

Season is spiraling down.

But I’ll be decked out in my Cal gear in front of the tube.

I’ll celebrate first 3 quarter with nachos and guacamole.

4th will be Pepto Bismal for dessert.

Too close to call. OSU has been bad juju since the Riley moment.
