Another day, another Big 10 transfer is coming to the California Golden Bears. This time its T.J. Bollers, an outside linebacker that is coming out west via the University of Wisconsin.
Bollers was slated to have an increased role with the Badgers this upcoming season, and was a four star recruit coming out of high school, where he was also considering Cal. In the 2022 season, Bollers played in 11 games as a backup, but lost playing time over the course of this past season. In his most recent update, he reportedly put on 17 pounds, and looked to be coming into this own.
The Bears got some much needed depth here along the edge. Bollers will complement David Reese and Xavier Carlton on the outside, adding to a group that wants to make noise in the ACC.
Welcome to Cal, T.J.!
Welcome aboard the Golden Bear Train, TJ! There's been good history of Cal D-linemen making a mark in the NFL (future Hall of Famer Cam Jordan, Tyson Alualu, etc.). Work hard & great things can come your way. Go Bears!
Would really love to get back to the days of strong Wilcox defenses.
