Does Utah repeat as Champs? Does USC get revenge from earlier this season?

I’m only rooting for SC so it cements Sonny Dykes not making the playoffs. That’s a good enough reason to root for SC right?

Full disclosure, I made a preseason bet on Utah to win the conference (thought that bet was dead until Oregon lost to OSU and UW beat Wazzu to send Utah back to the title game). I've had a lot of time to think about this one, and I just don't see Utah winning it. I think a Utah team at full strength (TE Brant Kuithe, RB Tavion Thomas, etc) beats USC, but Utah has shown to be limited without them. QB Caleb Williams played out of his mind in the regular season matchup between these teams in a hostile Utah environment and just barely lost last time, and I think he will again rise to the occasion: he'll buy time in the pocket to find the receiver not covered by Clark Phillips III, or he'll run it himself to sustain drives. USC has a solid defensive line to slow the Utah run game, and I don't think Rising can beat a weak USC secondary through the air (but he'll pick up plenty of gutsy yards running it himself). I think Kyle Whittingham is the better coach and will have a great gameplan for USC, but USC ultimately has too much talent on the offensive side of the ball and probably wins this one in a squeaker.

Caleb Williams cements his heisman moment by sending USC to the playoff. Utah's regression over the last few weeks comes to bite them, as Cam Rising throws an early 4th quarter interception to put the Utes behind for good.

This is such a classic conference of cannibals clash. Utah is the perfect team to contain Caleb Williams and they are the perfect offense to maul a very vulnerable USC defense. So long playoff money, again.

Kyle Whittingham makes an ironclad claim as the Pac-12's best coach, even though it ends up costing the conference millions of dollars in playoff revenue. He goes on to lead the Utes to a Rose Bowl win and retires on top, just as the Pac-12 gets torn asunder by conference realignment.
