When I was in-between jobs in Hong Kong, a friend of mine got me a week's work as a PA on the Semester at Sea season, when the show made a stop in Hong Kong.
There was a couple of moments when the crew realized they needed someone to stand on camera - so I am in this episode for like a total of half a second (twice)
When we were driving around town without the cast, all the crew would do is make fun of just how dumb the entire cast was. Just all day mockery. I believe Veronica went on to become a minor reality star after this, with a bunch of appearances on the Challenge.
I figured you would chime in with your encounter with these folks at some point. I also think MTV/Viacom was quite active in recruiting students from Cal to be on those shows back at the turn of the century.

I didn't really interact with Yes at all (he was on restriction the first half of the episode) and Veronica was very haughty.
