Thanks for the writeup Rob! I missed the game (and forgot to record..) so was happy to see this.
I'm a little surprised by the QB play. I guess I expected something different after hearing about Chase struggling and Zach being the better of the two during practices. I guess the game experience came handy here.
Also given that we only have 3 scholarship QBs, is that a concern for depth?
I’m not too concerned as long as they’re all getting snaps. It doesn’t sound like we had departures due to issues in the QB room but more so guys just wanting to play and betting on themselves to win a job elsewhere. Personally am a fan of going younger at backup QB so well defn have that in the fall. That being said I also wouldn’t be surprised if they went after a grad transfer QB to provide some additional options behind Chase
I believe it just means they have donated that amount of money to be given to Wilcox. Some times they also stipulate that their name be mentioned. I.e. "Justin Wilcox, the Cal football head coach sponsored by the Travers Family". Not sure if that's the case here
Yes the HC title is now named after the Travers Family. Interesting albeit obvious factoid, this is the same Travers family of Trace Travers from the Rivals site. The family has a long history of donating to Cal.
Nice write up Rob, thanks. Yes, I think we are holding our collective breath that Terry is just "dinged up" and that he does not have a serious injury.
I tried keeping track of the OL but it was a bit difficult given the mixing and matching and with the PAC 12 network cutting away repeatedly. It did appear that a lot of OLinemen played and one could see a higher degree of athleticism. Pulling guards and center and getting downfield for some blocks. So it appears that that group is improving and has quality depth. If that continues to materialize, Cal's O may get off of the mat this year, which would be nice. Any insight on the OL that you gather during your review would be welcomed.
Out of curiosity, does the WFC staff have the ability to join other sites like Rivals, 24/7 or Daily Cal during the Zoom interviews of coaches and players? Or are those credentials only given out to a select few?
We’re in all of those. It’s just a question of if someone is able to make it. Owen has been doing a stellar job making all the ones he can and doing write ups that he can. You can scroll down on the main page and read them.

Any one know what is the benefit of Head Coach Position being "endowed"? I was expecting an article here but didn't see one. Maybe it just hasn't shown up yet? https://calbears.com/news/2021/3/19/cal-football-head-coaching-position-endowed.aspx

Also, it was great that Wilcox had the team wave to the faithful on Tightwad Hill, well done!!

OK great. I will have to listen more intently for your questions during the interviews. I'm happy to hear you guys have access.
It’s also easier when we’re at the stadium but it being on zoom and time changes as well is just rough haha
