The US Olympic swimming trials are super cruel as only the top 2 makes the team (and often the 3rd place person has the 3rd best time in the world but no shot at a medal). I think Reece Whitley in breast and Ryan Hoffer in sprints (which has extra spots for relays as they take the top 6 finishers) may have the best chance but for them to make the team (projecting for both of them to improve their time between now and June), but their biggest competitions are Cal alum in Josh Prenot and Nathan Adrian.
I haven't seen any news of international competitions for Pawel Sendyk for Poland in recent years. I think he's too busy studying physics (got to shout out my fellow Cal physics major) to do international competitions.
Singapore's Zheng Wen Quah has already made the team! There's a couple of other Cal men that have been on their respective country's national teams, but that's no guarantee for making it to Tokyo this summer. Pawel Sendyk could be looking at an Olympic year breakout for Poland. Sebastian Somerset (Canada) has had some success at the junior world competition stage and could be another swimmer to look out for given his previous success at Canadian Trials.
As a current swimming water polo and swimming coach I love the aquatic updates. Go Bears!

Aside from Gonzalez, are any of the Cal men expected to make their respective Olympic teams?
