Excellent article Josh, thank you. We are spoiled here at WFC. The writers here are excellent and (I believe) most of them do this in their spare time and for free. Some of the Cal football pay sites don't have articles of the caliber we get here. So, thanks to all the contributors at WFC.

Onto the article. I don't think the RB formerly known as Chris Brown Jr. will get the majority of touches this year. The RB room is too talented and diverse. Per an interview I just heard with Angus McClure, our starting OL appears to be: Craig (he's back and healthy), Coleman, Driscoll, Mettauer, Daltoso. Solid OL. Hopefully they stay healthy in the last week of camp and jell into a cohesive unit.

If, albeit it a big if, the offense can average 28+ points per game the Vegas bookies may need to go to the Fed for a bailout.

"J.J. Arrington’s 2,000-yard season, or even the 1-2 punch of Beastmode and Forsett."

Turn the wayback machine one more click to the JJ Arrington/Beastmode 1-2 punch... All the attention/buzz at the time was on Arrington but I kept telling people I watched those games with: "yeah but check out this freshman!"

Yeah I remember being amazed by Marshawn's breakaway speed his freshman year, before he bulked up a little bit. That said, I don't think he got enough meaningful touches for them to have been considered a 1-2 tandem. (Hence Arrington amassed so many yards). I think I only remember Lynch coming in relatively late in games after we had a comfortable lead, against relatively defeated/depleted defenses. (could be remembering wrong though). That was also an awesome offensive line.

He did come in to spell Arrington - I remember his first carry (or first significant carry) came against Air Force in the first or second quarter when he ran into a pile for like a 2 yard gain, everything stopped, and then he came out the other side and ran for like 20 more yards and I just went "wow who is this guy?" - it was the second most shocking "first play ever" thing I personally remember watching (I didn't see Russell's kick return vs Miami). The first was Shaq blocking a jump shot in the McDonald's All America game, grabbing it out of the air, dribbling it down the court and then dunking on a defender.

Nice article! I hope Stredick gets some touches. He's probably the most explosive back we have, while Moore reminded me of Beast Mode during the Big Game with the straight arms.

Without seeing any recent film, I'd still agree that Moore is probably the best every-down type of back now. But it looks like we could end up having a "Running Back By Committee" that takes advantage of the different strengths, and I think that's a good thing.

CB(formerly CBJ) never seemed to be the type to take a hand off and hit the hole and get up field *in traffic*, and thus not reliable to pick up crucial yards on 3rd and short. Dancy, with his shiftiness and vision, started filling that need. In a similar way that little Khalfani Muhammed was a better short down back than the hulking Vic Enwere.

CB(formerly CBJ) however, is awesome at receiving swing passes or wheel routes and trucking guys when he's in space. So I hope they continue to utilize him that way, if he doesn't really break out as a traditional running back as a senior..

Nice article -- and welcome Josh! --though I would disagree with the assessment of a rigid pecking order with a clear #1 RB. I wouldn't even be shocked if Moore was listed as #1 (or if there isnt an "OR" next to their names) on the official depth chart come Nevada.

*also, must acknowledge that then-CBJ has dealt with nagging injuries in the past
