Well that's interesting and avoids legal ramifications, unless it could be construed that it essentially constitutes a waiver in a court of law.

The pledges some campuses are requiring will likely be considered waivers. Ohio State's "Buckeye Pledge" includes an acknowledgement that "I may be exposed to Covid-19 and other infections" and outlines penalties, including immediate removal of "athletic participation privileges," according to ESPN.

Cal's agreement in comparison is quite tame and even quite light on education. Hopefully, no Cal players contract Covid-19, so we don't have to find out!

I think Ohio St. is right on. They're smart. Last thing we need is for a student-athlete to get Covid and then file a lawsuit against us.
