I’m glad to see that recruits seem view Madsen the same way we on this blog have come to view him.

On court results will make the ultimate difference, but boy am I glad we have him a quick extension.

Huge huge huge. He's going to make a jump in his second year with us. There's a reason everyone was interested even though he statistically had a bad season. Really skilled and just needed time to adjust to P5 basketball and more time in the weight room. I think the floor is Jalen Celestine, who knows what the ceiling is.

Andrej will have (up to)3 years to develop in a program in need of a multi-season marquee player He has both the potential and opportunity to fit the bill. Time will tell. Go Bears!

When you have the types of choices Andrej has and he chooses THE University of California, you've gotten a winner in every possible aspect

Check this link out… explains exactly why Andrej chose Cal. One thing fs Mark really cares about who he recruits and he is the DOG.

Wow....could he be the Jason Kidd of this era?

CalBear91's avatar

It's no disrespect to any player in the country to say that Jason Kidd was a one off. No one before him like him, and no one coming after will be like him. He was just a freak of nature, and like Marshawn Lynch, not to be repeated in the lifetime of anyone here. His court vision, size, instincts, competitiveness, creativity, all of it, just make Kidd the player he was. I watched him live many times when he played at Cal. It was like watching a man among boys.

Kidd could have come in as a 16 year old high school junior and started at Cal on day one. He was that polished a player. Granted, he had to develop his outside shot, but all other aspects of the game were second nature by the time he got to Cal.

Totally. He was both physically mature and preternaturally talented. His no look passes bordered on science fiction. The reality is that even in the NBA there hasn't been someone with his particular combination of skills. There are better scorers and have been great passers, but Kidd was a niche guy who just did certain things better and differently than anyone else.

That's why I said this generations. But only time will tell, He's a mcdonald's all american like jason was and that's the only comparison I should have made clear.

I don’t post here a ton, but we really need all your help with Cal Legends right now.

Cal is closing on some huge names this weekend, (trust me Stojaković is only the beginning), but we need your help!

We could end up with a top 5 portal class if everything breaks right. We need to keep the momentum going.

So anything you can donate will be extremely helpful right now.

Go bears!!!
