Andrej Stojaković is a California Golden Bear
Stojakovic picks Cal over North Carolina and Kentucky.
Mark Madsen has landed their biggest transfer portal commitment of the 2024 recruiting class. Andrej Stojaković is coming to Cal.
A top-25 recruit and McDonald’s All-American in the 2023 recruiting class from Jesuit High in Sacramento, Stojakovic had a solid freshman season at Stanford, averaging 7.8 points and 3.4 rebounds a game. After the firing of Jerod Haase, Stojakovic put himself in the transfer portal and liked what he saw across the Bay. The talent is all there to be developed.
Stojakovic picked Cal over Kentucky and North Carolina, and it seemed his visit to Cal last week sealed the deal. He had an official visit to Kentucky this weekend planned but decided not to go, and is ready to get his future started with the California Golden Bears.
Cal now has filled in all but three of their scholarship spots, and have a team lined up with numerous players with multiple years of eligibility left. In just a year, Madsen has rebuilt Cal men’s basketball, and has a rising talent in Stojaković as a centerpiece. What a turnaround.
I don’t post here a ton, but we really need all your help with Cal Legends right now.
Cal is closing on some huge names this weekend, (trust me Stojaković is only the beginning), but we need your help!
We could end up with a top 5 portal class if everything breaks right. We need to keep the momentum going.
So anything you can donate will be extremely helpful right now.
Go bears!!!
I fuckin called it. At the end of the day it just makes sense to me. I know a lot of ppl are shocked and are gonna bash him but look here’s my take.
1. Playing for an 2 NBA champion coach and for a coach who knows a lot about the NBA and has connections here and there. Could help Andreji be like the player JT came to be. (you couldn’t go wrong with that and deny it)
2. He’ll defo be a starter and fill in the gaps of Jaylen Tyson absence.
3. Close to home, better academics and sports culture. 🤣🤣
4. NIL prolly wasn’t such of an issue for him since he already prolly has 🤑
5. Our coaching staff is the most hardworking and caring ppl out there, especially MadDog
6. UK and NC although are good basketball schools but he prolly just didn’t seen himself be a starter or something like that.
Wasn’t surprised at all that he choose Cal. Seems like the right decision he made. Maybe he got some advice from his well respected dad who told to go with MadDog 👀👀 Who knows? We’ll see if he can help rebuild this program and be a Cal caliber player like Jaylon Tyson was. One thing I know for sure MadDog is HIM and Cal basketball is back!! Let all the haters hate. #MarchMadDogMadness here we come!
