Stanford transfer Andrej Stojaković to visit Cal on April 19-20
A former rival is interested in what the California Golden Bears are cooking up.
Cal men’s basketball transfer news is starting to roll downhill with actual players scheduling visits to Berkeley in the coming weeks. The biggest name of interest is Stanford wing Andrej Stojaković, son of famous NBA star Peja Stojaković, who is visiting April 19-20 according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Andrej entered the portal after the firing of Stanford coach Jerod Haase, who recruited him to the Farm. Cal is his first confirmed visit.
Read more on the number of point guards Cal has reached out to in the portal, as well as wing talents.
Stojaković averaged 7.8 points and 3.4 rebounds across 32 games, starting 10 games and playing 22.3 minutes. He shot 47.1% on two pointers and 32.7% from three on 3.3 attempts per game. At 6-7 and 190 pounds, with the right coaching, he could certainly provide the pedigree of a versatile wing who provides solid 3-and-D capabilities to any new team.
Obviously, Cal needs anyone they can get. Mark Madsen will be pushing hard in this new portal world to fill his roster with the necessary talent. Let all your well-off Cal fan friends know that contributing to the Collective NIL is the best way to get that roster here.
Good player, lots of potential. And Cal is even closer to Sacramento. And he and his family definitely don't NEED NIL money so he can weight other factors more. And hopefully he won't feel the need to transfer multiple times.
Andrej would be a welcome addition to Cal basketball.
