Andrej Stojaković top 3: Cal, Kentucky, North Carolina
The California Golden Bears will have a chance to land the Stanford transfer forward.
Another update on Andrej Stojaković! There was a report yesterday that Stojaković had Cal in the mix. Now it is official that Cal is in the final three, along with Kentucky and North Carolina. On3 has more:
Former Stanford wing Andrej Stojakovic has narrowed his list of schools down to three, a source told On3. Moving forward, the former McDonald’s All-American will consider Cal, Kentucky, and North Carolina.
Stojaković visited Cal this past weekend. Kentucky is getting a visit this week.
Obviously, there is still a two-thirds chance we don’t get Andrej, but that Mark Madsen has us competing with two of the historical powerhouses is a sign of the effort the leaders at Haas Pavilion are putting up. Cal is definitely battling to add a centerpiece to this class and get the ball rolling on getting a true starting unit together that can compete. Stojaković would be a part of that.
Also, I’m not really prepared to lose a recruiting battle to Mark Fox (recently hired as a Kentucky assistant). It’s been too soon and I’m not ready for all of that. Let’s hope we can close the deal!
As a Kings fan who watched the battle against the hated Lakers back in the 2000s I need this. It’s too poetic. One rival coaching the son of a rival to bring that coach’s college rival school back to greatness. It’s the stuff legends are made of.
Coach Mark Madsen does have an older brother named Dr Michael Madsen who is a highly respected spine surgeon in N Carolina.
