Colorado has all the makings of a trap game. CU just hit no. 1 in CBS' bottom 25. A loss to the Buffs would be a devastating blow to our season. I can't really comprehend the implications.
Shaw inherited a 12-1, 4th ranked team and, to his credit, kept it at a high level for several years. He also worked with a supportive administration with no serious financial limitations, at a time when the conference powerhouse was in a down phase.
Tedford inherited a 1-11 dumpster fire, under NCAA sanctions, and turned it into a top ten program in 3 years.
You can argue that Shaw’s accomplishments outweigh Tedford’s, but dwarfs? No.
I saw him at the airport with his family, sitting in the public area waiting for their flight. Same smirk you see on TV, but looked way more fit in person. Wife was polite to the gate agent, kids were well behaved. Made me hate him more than ever.
When my son was in HS and an aspiring place kicker/punter, we went to Furd’s kicking camp. Afterwards I thanked Coach Shaw for a fantastic camp, after noting I was a Berkeley native. He was super nice and respectful; a first rate guy.
I take a ton of game clips already, I'm not sure I have the capacity to also start taking ref lowlights as well. But I was referring to the defensive pass interference call that went against Wazzu at the end of the first half, where the USC receiver threw the defensive back to the ground, but it was the DB that got flagged.
Being a UW and Mariners fan seems easier on the heart than being a Cal and Angels fan @rob hwang
I always viewed Shaw as someone that I would be happy for my son to play for but, under no circumstance, would I want him to coach Cal.
This Saturday we have an early game at 11:00 with Colorado. Should we win? We sure should. Will we? Heck if I know. Go Bears!
I’m having bad flashbacks of the 2017 defensive meltdown in Boulder

You should just go root for Furd if you like them so much

Besides, as we all know, Shaw eats babies, so, there's that.

It's always possible that the poor images of him are not fully accurate, apart from his willingness to work for Furd. ;)
LOL
